Water 'soaked' balls...

During the round this morning, while out on the course my golf partner and I were able to snared a few balls out of a water hazard. I was curious as to what effect (if any) will take place regarding the play-ability of the golf balls. I've always thought that the cover of a golf ball is pretty much impervious to sitting submerged for a few weeks... (At what point do you just pitch 'em in the garbage? Anyone care to weigh-in on the subject?

Me and my boy was having the same conversation yesterday. we came to the conclusion that as long as the cover ain't cracked,the ball SHOULD be okay.

If it's only for a few days or weeks, then it should be fine. But, if it's off-color, then it's a dead ball, and it's probably been down there for a while. You can hit it as hard as you want, and it'll feel like a rock and still only go 80 yards.

      I wonder if that is why my home course basically have no stakes now.  Not even markers.  It’s completely up to golfers to remember what is OB and hazard and how things used to be marked.     Even in tournaments, there is no marking and certain areas are played differently by different golfers who either don’t know better or use it to their advantage funny reading thru this with courses that actually have markers

      Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.

      So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
