Project X Frequency and stiffness not matching?

Is it true that Project X shafts are not frequency matched ever and their stiffness in a set is all over the place?

This is what my club maker told me when he tested the frequency of my set and his other customers.

Are you talking about Project X Flighted shafts?  If so, here's what True Temper says about them:

Project X Flighted
In addition to the playing characteristics that have made the Project X shaft a tour favorite, the Project X Flighted features an exaggerated change in kick point within each shaft throughout the set to optimize ball flight through the bag. Long irons provide a lower kick point for higher ball flight, easier launch and greater distance, while the short irons have a higher kick point for a lower trajectory, greater accuracy and control.

My clubmaker said the same thing he said my 6.0s were playing more like 7.0s. Didnt think anything of it till you said it to

Project X shafts run between $280 and $296 a set if you buy them wholesale. Not likely True Temper (now owns Royal Precision) with allow poor quality control on their high-end shafts.

Possible problems:

• Counterfeits
• A bad batch of PXs
• Poor installation during club-building

As for blankwall' s clubfitter, the PX shafts run the stiffest of the mainline steel shafts. Maybe the clubfitter hadn't seen them much before.

For example: the FCM rating of PX 6.0 shafts is 6.5 while the DG S300 is only 5.8.

For example, Callaway Pre-Owned has lots of Players and GI irons for sale that are shafted in PX 6.0 - they're just stiffer than people think.

That makes sense i havent noticed anything negative about the flex the flighted shafts make the proper ball flight very easy

So what's the difference between frequency matched and weight sorted? Areshafts that are not frequency matched inconsistent?

If they werent good then you wouldnt see them all over the tour, I dont follow much of what the tour guys play but I do know Rory McIlroy uses project X 6.5.
