Hello from Ottawa, Canada

Hey all,

Just started playing golf this year. Played my first 9 holes last year and last Thursday decided to actually pick the game up. Have my own set of clubs (hand me downs) and currently just working on hitting the ball straight.

I've heard a lot about the grip being very important so I think I have that down the most of anything...not a horrible putter, but I can't hit a ball straight to save my life from anywhere else. Now working on making my swing a lot smoother than it is currently. I have a driving range near my house that I'll probably frequent a lot in the coming months. Any tips would be appreciated.

I'm 24 by the way and pretty athletic (I usually pick up on sports and games pretty quickly) so hopefully I can progress fast enough to put up a decent score soon.
