It depends on the condition of both (grips, grooves, scratches). In general they are pretty much the same club. The burners are black and probably would wear a little faster. Also the burners lofts are probably a little stronger, but im not 100% on that one. Its probably a pretty even trade but i wouldnt just trade my clubs unless i didnt like them. If you like the callaways better then you should do it, but if you think they are the same, dont bother with the switch.

I would echo BHP, they are pretty much the same club and if the lofts are any different, it wouldn't be more than a degree.  Another thing to think about other than condition is shaft flex, length and lie angle.  Maybe your buddy's clubs are set up with a +2 lie, vs standard.  Or maybe you have stiff shafts and his are regular flex... etc.

At this point in the game (your HCP says "Beginner"), stick with the Burners if you're happy with them.  No need to fix something that isn't broken.

The X22 irons are weaker by about 3° in long irons that starts to shorten out to 2° in the 7 and 8 irons.  Also depending on what length the shafts are the taylormades are likely longer by anywhere to .5-.25 inches on any given club. As far as playability they will play near the same style not a whole big difference between the two.

I would not reccommend trading unless they were newer or had something you wanted in them.  Trading for the sake of trading is not a very good way to get used to clubs and get a feel for them.  It's tough to be consistent when you are changing your clubs too often
