I ended up playing 3 courses in two days in the area.

Day 1.

1. South Grove (2rounds back to back) - This was an interesting course.  I didn't care for it much however the price was right.  It was in good condition, however there were so many trees on the course it made play difficult.  There were many instances where while hitting an approach shot from the fairway, the green was almost completely protected by overhanging trees.  This forced playing a lot of low punch shots from the fairway.  Nearly all holes were straight (no dogleg).

Day 2.

2. Saddlebrook - I thought that this was a fantastic municipal course.  It was in good shape and I liked the layout.  Lots of doglegs which you wouldn't hit driver.  There was also a lot of water that made club selection critical.  A ton of fun for the money.

3. Eagle Creek (pines) - This course had a special on Golf Now for afternoon play so we decided to play it and I'm sure glad we did.  This was a very nice facility, range, chipping and putting greens.  This is a Pete Dye course which I was a little concerned with after reading a bunch of stuff here.  It definately had its challenges but wasn't overly difficult.  I didn't see any areas where if in the fairway that the greens were obstructed.  It was tons of fun for us.

We played 18 at Saddlebrook and 27 at Eagle for my record for amount of golf in one day: 45 holes!  Woo hoo.

Brickyard Landing is a Pete ,  Dye course that has several holes in the infield of Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We sat on the back deck of the clubhouse and ate lunch after touring the race track. I didn't play, but the course looked nice. The ChampionsTour used to play there. Playing, and touring the track and museum would be a fun day. Just to add, we are not race fans, but the experince at the track eas interesting.
