Does anyone have the MacGregor 435 NVG Driver? Should I get a newer driver?

Hello,

I have this driver, and have had it for a year. Last year it was actually one of my straightest and most consistent clubs. Now I can hit every single iron and wood straight when the time comes, except this. It seems to start far left and low, and "snap" slice? I dont understand. Is it time to get a new driver, one that goes farther and is more forgiving? I demoed a Razr fit driver, and it still did it but it went straighter and like 25 yards further so I dont know. Any ideas? Also, know any great drivers for under $100? Im cheap :P

Welcome to the wonderful world of golf, where one day you could hit a 1-iron 5-ft from the pin and the next day can't get it 5 ft of the ground lol. Sounds like a swing issue which the gurus could help you with. As far as I'm concerned, if you hit it straight and in the fairway, keep using it until it breaks, if it hasn't already. Just try and figure out what you are doing wrong, and try to correct it.

      New Maxfli Forged Irons - $800!

      I appreciate that you have taken the time to come back and update. Based on what was previously discussed I feel like the points were; forged, feel good, price, and possibly players distance. If you like the "looks" of those Maxfli irons and if price is a major point, then going straight to the source, Maltby, might make sense. Specifically, the TS3 iron. I was looking into this myself and found some reviews: Fit2YouGolf, Lets Play Thru, and ELITE FIT GOLF. As per your update I found the Maxfli to be ~$1300 fitted the way I wanted. Where the TS3 with the same fitting and assembled by Golfworks was less than $750. I suppose the downside is to actually hit the iron you will need to get lucky and find someone in your golf circle who will let you hit theirs or order a 6 or 7 iron to test. However, the way I look at that is being equivalent to some fittings. If you like the results and buy, then the fitting is free, otherwise the price of the fitting is a sunk cost. If name brand is important, then I submit for your consideration - THE BEST OVERALL IRON of 2024...... FACT !! 😉 A bit tongue in cheek that but also, I feel some good points were discussed.
