I had a set of S2s with stiff graphite shafts. The proshop said I need +1" stiff steel with +1* upright lie. I traded a guy for a set of X20 tours that fit this bill. My question is I like the clubs a lot but am playing them about 10 yards shorter. I've only hit a few buckets of balls with them so far but here's my question. Is there really that much difference between graphite and steel shafts?

I agree with the above. I played with adams graphite shafts for 6 years and just went to mizunos steel stiff shaft and hit the ball 20 yards further than I ever did with the adams. shaft make does not make a lot of difference in yardage to me. Its more about preference feel. Its easier to feel a mishit  and if you hit it off the toe or heal.

It is true that there is more feel with steel shafts but you should hit the ball farther with graphite shafts because they are lighter and should give you more clubhead speed.

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?

It has to do more with the loft of the clubs. The S2 loft on a 7 iron is 31* The loft on a x20tour 7 is 34. The S2 7 iron is more equal to your new x20 6 iron.

Never even gave that a single thought. Sometimes I amaze myself. Thanks

    • #2, Golf would get really boring if you only play Par 3's. Par 5s let you have a lot more strategy and design to play with.  Also.. as a short hitter I'm normally laying up on the 2nd shot.
    • I'm 22 days and 6 hours away from playing the Cradle.  Therefore I'm going with the Par 3 course!
    • Wordle 1,375 2/6* ⬜🟨⬜🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Purely a SWAG guess….back to back eagles….i know I’m headed to the land of 6 misses….
    • Interesting for sure. I have actually had my instructor try to get me to get the elbow in front as well. That actually spiraled me into the slump I am currently working out of. I would disagree with him saying that lowering the arm might be the simplest and easiest move in golf 😄. I am having SOO much trouble making that move instead of my hands immediately moving toward the ball from the top. It's like my mind has 0 patience at the top and tells me to GO GO GO.
