Hi guys, first post here. I used to slice my longer irons quite badly, then i went through a phase of hitting them relatively straight, now ive noticed ive started hooking them! Ive only been playing 12 months so i dont expect to be pro but, i thought i had fixed it and now its gone the other way.

Any tips?

Thanks

Jonny

Start left hook left?  Start right hook left?  Straight then left?  Depending on which one it's a different issue.

This is exactly right. It could be a slight over the top move all the to a change in ball position in your stance. Several could be's and an equal amount of cures

Thanks for the quick response guys, i think its my feet position to be perfectly honest because i changed it recently to compensate for my driver "slice". Right foot back in stance? Am i right?

Does the ball start left of your target and then hook left?

I suppose you could say that yes, its starting left and drifting more left in the air. May have just been a bad couple of days but i never used to do it what so ever.

Thanks

Sounds like an outside-in swing with a face closed relative to the path of the club.  You should search this forum for threads on the ball flight laws.

Here's a link I found discussing this:
