Hey there...I'm new to the forum and was hoping to get some club fitting help.  I'm hitting Ping S56 irons with Regular (DG R300) shafts.  My 6 Iron SS is 92. My last set of irons were Titleist 690MBs with the same shafts. I'm playing at 4000ft and can't seem to get an 8 iron to go over 150. 6 iron 175.  doesn't seem right to me at sea level (a few years ago, I'll admit) i coul;d hit an 8 iron 160.  If my math is correct, that 150 8 iron is really 138!  Could it be the shaft?

Thanks

yes try a DG R400 / S200 to keep the feeling/shaft loading but transfer a bit more energy. those pings are 1.5 degrees stronger than your old clubs, more or less. I hit my cg1 8 140 and cg1 6 160 with r400s. i have my clubs set up on 10 yard increments though and am not a long hitter.

your new clubheads are bigger, will be moving more earth. losing a bit of steam perhaps in the process of making a divot compared to a smaller blade.

they are also high launch by design. more vertical launch is shorter distance also compared to a boring blade strike.

Do you hit them really high?  Is ball contact low on the face?

You should post a video of your swing.  That way we could see your impact position.

It will definitely help with a diagnosis.  If your hands are in the proper position at impact then you have a shaft issue.  If not, it's mostly a swing issue.
