New best for 9 holes.

For the past 3 years I have been pushing the sub 40 mark from the back tees at my home course.  I have a 38 from the red tees, but had only achieved 40 from the tips.  That all changed this morning when I fired a 38 from the back tees.

Par 35, for the whole 18 the course is rated 72.1/122.

Had 3 birdie putts that I could/ should have made, but o well.

Shot of the Day

On the par 3, 165 yard 8th a group of 3 let me play through on the tee box.  They had a ball on the green about 7 feet from the hole.  I hit an 8 iron to about 5 feet.  I then proceeded to miss the birdie by about an inch.

Bad break of the Day

The 4th hole is a 440 yard par 4.  I hit a pretty solid tee shot right down the middle of the fairway.  When I got up to my ball I saw that the fairway was extremely wet and my ball made quite an indent in the fairway and got about 3 yards of roll.  Left me with 200+ to the green.  Ended up carding a 6, after my 2nd shot came up short, and I bladed my 3rd over the green.

On the par 5 5th.  I hit a pretty huge drive but it was heading towards OB.  On my provisional my arm like jammed/ seemed to come out of socket for a second and I hit a horrible shot.  Luckily my original drive was in a wide open area about 10 yards left of OB.  Went on to par.

The best part of this whole thing was that my girlfriend was walking with me, and she witnessed it all.  Next week I am playing with a golfer who golfs at Mizzou and was a state champion in high school.  Hope I can keep this up.

Nice! I shot a best ever 81 today and shot 39 on the back. Felt great to finally break 40!

I broke 40 last week for the first time too on a course rated much the same. It DOES feel good. What a confidence booster. Way to go....

Trackster - that's awesome!  Now that you know you're capable of doing it, I hope the confidence boost will help make it happen many times again!
