How do you guys adjust your scores for Equitable Stroke System

My USGA index is 8.2, but I'm a 10 and my home course because from the white tees it's a 70.8/132 & 73.0/139 from the tips...

My home handicap just went up from a 9 to a 10 in the last USGA revision, and if I go by the ESC based on my home course handicap I can take up to a 7 on any hole.

I was wondering if you guys\girls use the ESC based on which course you play or do you just adjust your score for your handicap based on your USGA Index?

So before I play a course should I find out what my course handicap is and adjust accordingly, as oppoes to just going off my 8.2 index which means I can't take more than a double on any hole?
