The evolvr lessons are going great. James has been helping me. Getting just a few specific things to work on from someone who really knows what they're talking about is huge. When I first started getting serious about my game earlier this year, I saw plenty of things wrong with my swing, but had no way of making a plan of attack to correct the problems.

Initially tried going to a reputable pga pro that charged $40 per 45 minute lesson. He gave me a few helpful tips, but a lot of swing advice conflicted with info I've read on here and other forums. Ended up canceling after only one lesson, and jumped on evolvr. So happy I did. My golf budget is also really low at the moment, so the low cost is great as well.

Got a new camera with 240p video so I thought I'd upload some new videos. This thing is sooo much better for analyzing my swing than my droid :D

Still on evolvr, which is going well. Working on my transition and weight transfer. I have a tendency to stop my hip slide too early and over rotate which has been causing lots of pulls. Doing the 9-3 drill a lot at the range and focusing on getting my right foot to roll instead of lifting my heel. It's slowly getting better. Thanks for looking, any help always welcome!

Swing update!

Still working with James on evolvr, which has been awesome. Lately he has me focusing on sequencing, specifically holding my hips off until I get to P6 and then firing with everything. This has really helped. Right heel isn't lifting up nearly as much, hitting less pulls.

Hoping this unusually warm winter weather keeps up! Thanks for looking.

meta87, the swing looks like it is getting solid.  The right foot looks very good - I can see you have put some work in to get that piece.  Nice job!

One thing that popped out on the 12-9-12 DTL video was that your left arm looks like it is quite under plane.  Has anyone over at Evolvr talked about getting more extension in your backswing?

a.) Right leg straightening - pushes the right hip deeper and higher than the left

b.) Shoulders will then turn more vertical - left shoulder will be lower

This will help get the left arm on plane with your shoulders.  It looks like you are underplane and the clubface is closed at A4.

Hey Beachcomber, thanks for the reply. You are right on the mark. Extension and feeling like I'm expanding my chest during my backswing was what James covered 2 videos ago. I can see what you mean about being under plane at A4. Will focus on improving that issue. Can't wait till I really get the backswing locked down.

Thanks again bro! Hope your swing changes are going well.

    • I've played the Tour in both white and yellow.  They play well and seem to hold up pretty good even when running into trees or cart paths.  Right now, I've been trying them against the Bridgestone Tour B RX ball and I really like both.  The Snell 3.0 looks to be a great update to the issues Snell was running into with the previous generation.

    • Not to take away from the OP's question but the Snell 3.0 is about all you could ask for in a ball. I'm not a paid spokesman and my opinion does not reflect on the owner of the site. Lexi Thompson could beat most people with a Top Flite, or a Nitro. Ben Griffin? He doesn't offer a lot of street cred so I'll pass. Now if Fat Perez or Heavy Ballesteros start using it then?????? 😀
    • Just read that Peter Oosterhuis passed away. He was the one and only celebrity I have asked for an autograph! In September 2007, I was in the Charlotte Airport awaiting a flight reading my October 2007 Golf Magazine. It was during the FedEx playoffs and Tiger had just won the previous tournament with the Tour Championship the next event. I watched the event listening to the dulcet tones of Peter Oosterhuis, among others. I opened the magazine, and started reading an article about Oosterhuis and the opening picture had him posing as James Bond in a movie’s opening sequence. I looked up from the article and he was sitting directly across from me!    I approached and showed him the article and asked if he would sign the photo. Mr. Oosterhuis asked “Are you keen on golf?” When I responded positively, we spoke for about 10 minutes discussing the fact that both Phil and Tiger had won FedEx events prior to the Tour Championship. He was very gracious and a wonderful storyteller. I was saddened by his battles with dementia and missed him on CBS’s telecasts.
