I went to the range last night and demoed a couple drivers. One of them was the HiBore XL. I liked alot and knowing that I can get the old HiBore at rockbottomgolf.com for $139 made it pretty appealing. The guy at the range said the only difference he can tell in the 2 clubs is the HiBore sounds better than the XL. Does anyone know if there are any major differences? Or is the XL just the newer model with a different color on the bottom of the head? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

So i called edwin watts to see what the deal was with the XL vs. the old one. He told me the sweet spot on the original is about the size of a quater, and on the XL is the entire club face. Do you guys think he was telling me this so i'd go buy a new one from him, or did they really change the club that much? Thanks again.

They can't give the old Hibore's away......
Gotta be a reason.
Also, Vjay dumped his last year to go back to the 460.

No offense to the Hibore owners....:)

I've been tempted to order a $149 Hi-Bore myself but there sure do seem to be a lot of them around for that price. As Kevntri said, there's gotta be a reason. Especially when other 'last year's models' are still in the $200 range.

I have the Hibore and while someone has said they can't give them away.... I would not sell mine. I love it. And the bit about a sweet spot the size of a quarter...what hogwash. The forgiveness of this club is part of its design and I find my bad hits getting pretty good distance and my good hits are bombs. I carry the ball further than ever. It takes off like a torpedo. More and more of my approach shots are with shorter irons. If the XL made it even better, then great, but I have no complaints about mine and I have played with others who have been quite happy with theirs. I am matching and beating drives for distance and accuracy of some pretty good golfers. They say I am "cheating."

I can't wait until I get my own Hibore Irons. I have demoed them and they are definitely what they claim to be. The added one club's distance and averaged off center by 4 degrees, all within the fairway and with increased height, more will be stopping on the green instead of rolling off. Thanks Cleveland.
