How to play poorly maintained greenside bunkers with thin sand and a hard substrate?

For a thin layer of sand over "hardpan" I prefer a lob wedge, don't open the blade and swing as hard as a normal sand shot.  If it is a longer shot use a gap wedge but keep the slower than normal tempo for a sand shot.  With due respect to some of the earlier posts I do think the bounce of a SW in this situation leaves less room for error than the LW or GW.

Some of the ones in our area are baked to cement, and worn edges. Thr play is to putt,ball goes up the slope in the air and lands on the green. Course that course is $25 with a cart. Rest of the course is fine really

Driver - RBZ 10.5 

3 Wood - Burner 2.0 - 15

Hybrids - Burner 2.0 3-18, 4-21, 5-24

Irons - Burner 2.0  5-P

Wedges - RAC 52 and 56

Putter -  Anser 2 

Ball -  NXT-Tour
