Obviously not all at once, but here is what im doing to change from a "pick the club straight up into a baseball hitting stance and chop down" swing i defaulted back to after not golfing a spell Slightly strong grip One piece takeaway low and inside Shoulder turn Left arm across chest Hips turn but no sway Not too big a backswing But reach out with arms Drive forward Legs->hips->shoulders->arms Swing down into ball Left wrist straight at impact Extend arms out End with chest facing target Nothing revolutionary here. Some learned in two lessons, others shoveling at the range or watching slo mo swings of various pros. I am aiming for relatively straight at the target, in the air. Seems to give a nice high flight with some fade. Anything horribly wrong with this train of thought Really need to work on shots from 70 yards to say 10 off green. Putting and chipping from fringe decent. But the land of the half to 3/4 swing is my worst. Down the road i would love to hit a draw on purpose. Winter will be once or twice a month with big clubs, but short game, stamina, and flexibility

Swingthoughts are very personal depending on what problem one has. My feeling is more of a low and vertical but it's because I've been too much inside. In the end we might end up in the same spot in the takeaway because we don't do what we feel.

These are not things that all go through my mind as I hit, particularly when I play. But I am just trying to have written down and in my head a sequence of things and play it like a movie as i visualize.  When I play, its all about autopilot for good or ill and solid contact.

Here I'm thinking inside cause I was going straight back. Its gonna come up about the right amount if I do the other things right. I've been off golf for 5 years, was never at it much. And have 20 years of hitting baseballs and softballs to over come. Well I did enjoy that at the time :-)

    • Yes.  Did he not hit the range before the round? When my first few pre-round drives aren't what I expect, the first thing I check is my driver settings, in case they changed.  I am on my second adjustable driver and I am still not trusting that golf gremlins don't change it between rounds. The second thing I check is my alignment and setup, and that is far more often the culprit than my settings. In any case, there are some simple things that I imagine should be on a professional player's pre-round checklist that I am surprised when they aren't.  One of those is the settings for any adjustable clubs.
    • It was also set at B1 at a previous event, and… so there's dubiousness around whether he's telling the truth (again).
