On Tuesday I took a few quickie hand-held panoramic type shots. Have a look. Here they are:

Those are awesome. Oakmont is my 2nd favorite course right behind Bethpage. I like seeing the persons view of it all.

Nice pictures Erik!

The spot where you captured the 17th hole was not too far from where Furyk 'lost' it on Sunday. I spent two hours on Saturday in the 18th tee grandstand (with a great view of 17th green). It was sad to see how it emptied out so quick once Tiger tee'd off (given that there were still a number of groups to finish).

Are you going to do a full pictorial review for Oakmont (like the one you did for the Memorial)?

Probably not. I tried to attend the Open primarily as a fan, and only took the camera two days.

Just signed up for the forum, iacas, so only just saw your photgraphs. To someone like me, who's stuck over on the other side of the Atlantic and will probably nver see Oakmont for myself, your pics made me feel I was right there, which is what I love about the Internet.

I had to smile, as well, because I did a piece on my blog a couple of weeks ago, linking to a collection of Oakmont photographs taken by the staff of Golf Course Industry magazine that make the place look about as appealing as a horse paddock. You should ask them for a job...
