I've been looking through the site for a while and decided to sign up. Seems like a pretty cool, fun community in a lot of respects.  I've shaved a few strokes off my handicap this Summer but still can't find the consistency to stay in the low 80s/high 70s that I think I am capable of.  Sculled pitches and chili-dipped chips are the bane of my existence!

I play most of my golf on the public courses in NYC and Long Island, but sometimes opt to take a drive to the Hudson Valley, and the NW Catskills where I can avoid 5+ hour rounds.

I too am new to this golf board, as a matter of fact its my first golf community so I hope you are right about being good.

I hear you on sculled pitches haha ... I'll chip 3 balls nice and tight on the practice green then all of sudden bam one goes a flyin acroos the green scaring someone

just saw on the golf channel last week - there's an affordable course on the tip of long island - you can take the train all the way out to the last stop & walk to the course - it's right there & apparently, alot of people do this.
