What do you mean "where I live?" I've seeing it at $299 everywhere - are you sure your not making a mistake for the Ping Rapture?

Trust me, take a look at my major golf store website where i live..

www.golftown.ca the G5 is 399. As for my results i went to golf town today and tried the following drivers: Titleist 905R 9.5 Degree Stiff Callaway 460 Tour 9.5 Regular Titleist 905T 10.5 Regular Taylormade R7 460 9.5 Regular Cleveland Hi-Bore 9.5 Regular Nike Sasquatch 9.5 Regular As a result, i struggled to hit all of these Drivers over 250 except for my Sasquatch. In the end, i feel like an idiot taking back my old driver. I was hitting it avg 250 with a swing speed inbetween 90-105. Maybe it was just my technique with the others but the max i hit these were about 245. I was able to hit my Sasquatch max 258. The simulators are kind of off on simulating roll also so most of these distances must be further on a real golf course.

I live in canada so they currency exchange is definatly gonna do that. Also you can only show them if prices are cheaper within the City at different stores in the city. Nothing out of the province or the country.

Golf Town is a huge major store in Winnipeg (My City) All little golf stores follow Golf Towns prices, so every store is the same price everywhere. They all match Golf Towns prices.

I'd definently try a few drivers on the course a bit more, I never trust the simulators.

Ya, try them out for your self and get a feel for what works for you!
I have buddies who swear by Nike, Ping's and TaylorMade's. I've used TM R5, TM R7, Nike Sumo and Ping G5. I just traded in my TaylorMade R7 and bought a Titleist 905R for $199, minus my 10% and my Trade in.
For my own experience, the 905R has been the best driver I've used yet. I've gained yards and consistency with it. I think it's the shaft more than anything, but none the less I've gained confidence and picked up 30 yards consistently over the TM. I use to hit about 230-240 off my drives, Since the 905R I've been over 260 every time. My last round I hit two drives 300 or more. I didn't believe it and have never been close to ever hitting that range before. I had a slight down hill 396yard Par4 18th hole on Thursday (Vineyard in Escondido) when I got up to my drive on that hole, I had 63 yards to the center of the green for my second shot. Granted, it was a down hill fairway so I gave myself a fair estimate of a 300 yard drive. The second was a Flat & strait Par 5 523 yard and I had 205 for my second shot. This is the first time in my short Golf history that I have any kind of confidence in my driver. If it wasn't for my 2 blown up holes(bunker lesson learned..lol), I would have hit in the 80's for the first time, but it saved me from a lot of OB drops/stokes and lost balls.

    • Well, I have a 2 hybrid, 4 hybrid and then play 6 iron onwards.  My best clubs are probably the 4 hybrid and the PW.  What I find is that loft is your friend in general which is why my 4 hybrid is so much better than my 2 hybrid.  Definitely disproportionately more so than the 5 or so degrees of difference in loft.  If you have hybrids, play them.  And consider loft as your friend.  Invariably you will get up to a loft where anything less will not get you more distance because of your club head speed.  Essentially the faster you swing the less lofted a club you can hit effectively.  For me it is probably a 4 hybrid and maybe a 7 iron though I could improve both with practice
    • Off to my home state of Massachusetts this morning. 9 this afternoon,  18 tomorrow,  and 18 on Saturday. Hoping for some good scores but will be just happy playing with good friends.
