I've been working on getting some new clubs for the last few weeks and it has been a little difficult. I was referred to a guy at a local national chain by my pro that I have been taking lessons with. I went and saw him and he was very helpful in setting me up with demo clubs to take and hit. He even changed my mind on my irons after I was being hard headed on getting a specific set that was probably outside of my current skill level. I tested some irons and hybrids and up to that point things were going very well.

I was given one driver to test and really liked it, but the guy wanted me to hit another driver just to see if I hit it and liked it better. The only problem was that they did not have that driver in a demo because someone else had it checked out and they never returned it. The guy I was working with kept calling him but he never returned the calls. Bottom line is the club was never available to demo.

I called today, reserved to the fact that I want to get this process moving and was willing to stick to the driver I hit originally without trying the other one. I did like the driver, but I really wanted to try the other one to see. It turns out that he was able to get in touch with the guy who has it and should have it by Saturday. I'll go get it Monday or Tuesday to try out and then get the rest of the process moving.

I'm wondering how long it takes from club selection to delivery. I know it probabely depends on the shop, but I was hoping to see if I can expect new clubs within a week, two, or more after doing the final fitting. I'm hoping to get the driver on Monday, give it a test run throughout the week, and then make the final selection and fitting by Friday.

Any thoughts or experiences?

Thanks.

It depends on what needs to be done to the clubs. If you just need longer or shorter shafts it should be quicker. If you need clubs that are bent it will probably take longer unless they in stock. Earlier in the season i ordered +1 1/2 inches and 3* up irons and it took one and half weeks with 2 day shipping.

    • I've been putting whilst looking at the hole and it's definitely helped my distance control
    • I wonder if that is why my home course basically have no stakes now.  Not even markers.  It’s completely up to golfers to remember what is OB and hazard and how things used to be marked.     Even in tournaments, there is no marking and certain areas are played differently by different golfers who either don’t know better or use it to their advantage funny reading thru this with courses that actually have markers
    • is it though?????? "Millions of fans"?????
    • Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.
    • So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
