1) weight forward

2) flat left wrist at impact

3) steady head

Though weight forward and steady head will help lead to a flat left wrist at impact. Because i find that people start manipulating the club when they have other things going wrong. You get to far forward, you bow your wrist more. You fall back, or have your weight back, you will flip at the ball.

+1

I focused on these first 3 keys of the 5SK system, and it makes a world of difference.  There are some nice drills on youtube that concentrate on steady head and weight forward in particular.  Too often there are these complex gimmicks and swing fixes that, for me, do more harm than good.

If you concentrate on a steady head, you will remain balanced.  If you concentrate on weight forward at impact, you'll make more consistent contact.  If you concentrate on a flat left wrist at impact, it will prevent casting/flipping.  Many other aspects of the swing will fall in line if you keep these three goals in mind.  I have a ways to go, but have been impressed thus far at how effective and easy it is to focus on these three ideas.

On keeping a steady head, dont force yourself to take a tour style turn, if you feel yourself moving away from the target in the backswing, either let your hips rotate open a bit more, or stop rotating, that's your bodies natural ability. Also watch out if your shoulder turn is to shallow. If you take the club to far inside, then your probably taking a very shallow shoulder turn, this movement limits the amount of turn you can do before your forced to weight shift to the right to finish a full turn. Get your shoulder turn a bit steeper, like your left shoulder is pointing more towards the ground.

I find a flat left wrist will work its self out if you work on a steady head and weight shift. Just because your hands adjust to what your body does. Its called hand eye coordination. People who flip are those who  usually dont keep there weight forward, or do a reverse pivot in the downswing. Its there eye to brain saying, 'Hey i wont hit the ball if i don't flip at it'

If you get your weight forward, you hands should work to getting further forward before you clubhead gets to the ball. I found when i got my weight forward and head steady my divots naturally went forward, an i can hit golf balls off my front foot with wedges, if i really try. So you'd be shocked how much those two help out.

ayysol .... a bit of right knee "kick in" is a good idea IMHO. You don't want to let your weight shift to the outside of your right foot at the top because that will inhibit proper weight shift as you start down.

playing in texas, you have to learn to play low boring shots in this texas wind.  i think i am going to buy a new set and have the lofts adjusted up since i am playing it further back in my stance.  will mess up my yardage numbers, but will get the proper lift i want.  my long irons need more arc.
