I have a big weekend coming up with a lot of golf to be played.  This is great but it also concerns me a bit because when I have played more than 18 holes in a day, I've gotten tired and my performance has suffered.  I'm playing 36 holes tomorrow at two different courses.  I'm going to make sure that I eat and drink throughout the day.  In the past when I have played 36 holes in one day I have really struggled mentally.  I was physically tired too, but it seemed to be more mentally.

I really want to keep sharp tomorrow because the second 18 that I am playing is a tournament/scramble.  The first 18 I'm playing is just a regular round at a course I've never played.  Then it's a short drive to the course where the tournament is going on.  As I mentioned before, I plan on bringing snacks with me and making sure that I drink a lot, although heat is not going to be a factor.  I'm just not sure if there is anything that I can do or take to help mentally.  I usually drink a 5 hour energy before a round, maybe tomorrow I will have one before each round?

In the past when I've gotten past 18 holes, I can tell that my focus is just not the same.  Physically I'm tired but it seems that things just get rushed and I get way more upset/cranky over poor shots.

Does anyone have any suggestions/advice?  This is only going to be like the 3rd time that I have ever played more than 18 holes in one day and it's going to be 36 tomorrow at two different courses.  I'm also playing 18 this afternoon, so it's a lot of golf and I'd like to be as focused as possible.

1) drink lots of water, like 2 bottles per 9 holes.

2) make sure you eat decent meal before each round, and i would have a small snack at the turn, like a protein bar

That's all i can say, other than that its your bodies endurance. All you can do is keep it fueled and hope your in shape for it. If you want to be in shape next year, i would start working out, doing cardio. Running, walking up an incline, ect..
