After a one week break, the LPGA resumes its schedule with the playing of the LPGA Lotte Championship Presented by J Golf. This will start a stretch of six tournaments over a seven week period, that will be capped off by the year's second major championship.

There will be a pretty solid field, with newly crowned Kraft Nabisco champion Inbee Park, and the world's number one player Stacy Lewis, leading the way.
Although there are a few key players sitting it out, my strength of field rating is still a very solid 80.5%.
Among the players sitting it out this week are: Amy Yang, Catriona Matthew, Lexi Thompson, Chie Arimura, Ayaka Uehara, and Jimin Kang.

This will be tournament number 7 of 28 to be played this year.

Here are the key details:

Was watching this afternoon and really enjoyed it. Salas was so close to sinking that final putt to go to -20 (-11 for the day!) and then just chunked it in the playoff. Good run though. Also not sure if its just this tournament but I really like the wed-sat schedule.

Wish I could have tuned in, didn't watch any golf last week. As a Suzann fan I try to watch when she's amongst the leaders. Really like the way she plays.

Dave :-)

I had the opportunity to play this course last january. Very nice course located on the leeward side of Oahu beautiful views of the both the mountains and the Pacific ocean. We stayed at the Disney Aulani resort which abuts the Ko Olina golf course. I was quite disappointed that they did not show either the Aulani resort or the Marriot resort. IMO the LPGA really missed the boat on that. If it was me I would have had the LPGA players videoed at the Disney resort's fabulous water park area. It would have been a win win for both the LPGA and DIsney. I guess it would have been a severe conflict for the NBC who aired the event.

ABC should buy the LPGA contract from NBC and promote the LPGA in there various Disney commercials. Those attractive young LPGA players would be a refreshing improvement to Disney advertising and also increase much needed interest in the LPGA tour. Imagine Natalie Gulbus and Michele Wie riding down Splash mountain or waving good bye on a DIsney cruise ship. But what do I know?

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
