Hello all,

I am new to the forum, but not new to the game of golf.  I started playing at age 10 and played regularly until I was 15. I played to an 8 handicap for a while but would consistently play at a 10.  I then took a 12 year sabbatical from the game, and I am now getting back into it.  I wonder why I stopped playing, it's fun and challenging.

I have played five or six rounds recently and been to the range as well and, all things considered, I am pretty happy with how I'm hitting it.  There are glimpses of my old game but its the inconsistency that is killing me.  So, I've booked a few lessons with a professional to try and iron out the kinks and to refresh my memory of all those nuances that I've forgotten.  I've also been given a swing evaluation (not with the pro who I have lessons with) and a club fitting as gifts.  So, my question is, what order should I do this in?  I am borrowing a set of clubs from a friend at the moment so I am ready to make the investment in a set of my own.  Should I have the evaluation first, take the results to the pro and then get fitted for clubs once I feel comfortable with my game?  Or should I get clubs first and then have lessons with my new gear?

As we all know, all these things come at a price so I want to get the most benefit for my investment.

Your opinions are welcomed!

I would do the former.

Get your evaluation

Continue with your lessons

Once you are consistent get the fitting done.

It is harder to fit you if you are not consistently hitting the ball.
