- my recommendation to the OP is to eBay his wedges and get one with high bounce that is designed to do what he wants around the greens.

I want a club that can do alot from 80 yards and in. I notice that I dont hit the 56 as far as the 54 I hit the 56 more confidentally than the 54. I rarely find myself making a flop shot from a hard pan, I am on a limited golf budget, since my other passion-wine making is eating into my funds. I have 1/2 dozen clubs in my garage I have tried to sell on ebay and was unable to sell them for dirt cheap. Maybe on the next golf sale, I will trade in and meet you both 1/2 way with a 55 with super bounce. But I am learning alot from this discussion. Thank you

I currently play PW 46-5, 51-6 and 56-14.  I have tried to use a 60-8 or something close and it was very hard to hit.  I gave up on it in short order.  Yesterday I ordered a 60-14 with a heel grind (which I was fit for).  As my game is getting better I am seeing a potential need for a higher lofted wedge and I am losing a club at the top of the bag that is seldom used.

I agree that bounce is your friend, I have hit what would amount to a fat partial wedge shot and felt the bounce save me.

No, it isn't, and that's why you seem to want to disagree with me on this. I think your versatility is increased overall, rather than reduced overall.

I don't particularly think your summations of my posts is accurate, either.

If I have a choice solely between bounce in the same grinds, and especially for the average player, I'll almost always recommend more bounce over less. Less bounce encourages lousy wedge play, and reduces versatility far more often than it enhances it.

    • Had a good session this morning I also did manage to get to hit some balls at the range couple days ago and was seeing driver swing speeds when hitting balls ranging from 108-111mph I’ve always been able to peak around 108-109 but these swings at the range felt more like full swings and not max swings when hitting the ball so probably have seen some improvement The big jump shown on the app is probably “mostly” down the the workouts introducing “Max” swings speeds (you can change this in the app) but even if I was just comparing cruising swing speeds, plus the evidence when hitting balls, I’d say there’s been a 2-3mph increase so far. Sessions are quick and easy. Convenient for someone like me who has little spare time at the moment. Looking forward to seeing what further gains I can make!
    • Day 331 - Main focus was on ground contact, so mostly work with the Divot Board.
    • Day 149: tooled around with putters at PGA Tour Superstore for a while. None of the putters I tried were better than mine, which is not surprising.
    • Day 8: More mirror work on the same stuff; neutral grip / centered turn.
    • Day 224 (13 Dec 24) - Friday men’s group session / teamed up with course greens keeper and his assistant.  Was a very “meh” round as I underplayed the putter more than anything.  Driving was okay, irons were good. Wedges were strong - even had a couple green side pitches rattle the flag and lip out for near miss birdies.  Fun part was we were busy repairing pitch marks - like three to each one we made.  Best lesson was really seeing the course from the perspective of the ones’ who take care of it.
