Fighting through discouragement

Hi All,

I decided to rededicate myself (or so I thought) to reworking my swing and hitting the ball properly.  For a long time, I've been a clean picker, I don't take any divots, and I don't hit the ball as far as I could if I trapped the ball and hit it correctly.  I know, I know, Tom Watson was a clean picker, but I wanted to start hitting the ball more consistently.

I was capable of cutting across the ball a bit with my drives, hitting it 190 yards and then clean picking around the course and putting together mid 80s, low 90s scores, mainly because I've always had a decent short game.

Anyway, after just 2 lessons, I literally can't hit the ball without shanking it. I realize that when you start lessons, you're going to get worse before you get better, but I'm getting really discouraged and I've hit A LOT of balls.  My instructor has me focusing on getting the weight to my right in-step on the back swing (so I stop swaying), which worked for awhile, but now maybe I'm leaning forward when I focus on getting my weight there, I don't know.

Sorry this is so long. If anyone is still with me, thanks.  I know that I need to be patient, but it gets really discouraging when you literally can't even try to play a round of golf, because every shot goes lateral and off the course.  I plan on video taping my swing at the range tomorrow and trying to get a look at it for myself.

Have any of you actually found that posting your swing here and getting feedback actually made a difference?  I plan on posting my swing here, also, after I have it on tape.  I'll try anything at this point :)
