So I've decided after three weeks back playing golf, that I'm going to get myself a lesson this Saturday from my local PGA professional.

I've been watching youtube videos and diagnosed that I had too strong a grip so have managed to change it to neutral but it feels awkward in my right wrist.

I also have a pretty bad fade/slice and quite inconsistent, so hopefully this lesson will help begin to diagnose my faults and put me in the right direction.

Although today at the range I was letting my wrist do a lot of the work instead of thrashing my arms through as quickly as possible and was getting my 3 iron about 205 yards, so I know I can do it.

Absolutely itching to get the lesson now, but it's another 5 days away. Should I stay away from the range until I get my lesson so I don't engrave any more bad habits into my game or should I just keep going along anyway?

Go to the 5SK Video Thread, study, and do some mirror work.

I think staying off the range for the next few days is a good plan. Practicing the wrong moves will just make it harder to change. It is great to have the 'bug' though, and you don't need to waste the next five days. Grab your putter and get to work. Please, though, don't think of taking lessons as something you have to swallow your pride for! Tiger has a swing coach. There is no shame. Playing crappy golf is much more humilating than being seen taking lessons.
