When playing a draw as your stock shot, should you line up right of the target?  For example, if the pin was in the middle of the green, you line up as though your target is the right side of the green instead of the flag itself.

Or, are you better off lining up at the target and swinging in-to-out so that the ball starts toward the right as soon as it leaves the clubface.

I know that I've got to start the ball right, no matter what, but my direct question concerns initial alignment.  Will I be better off in the long run practicing lining up at the target and grooving the swing to start the ball outside.  Or, to play the draw, do you have to aim right?

The short answer: it depends.

If you need help sending the path in to out more, line up as far right as you need.

If you don't need help, you can line up at or even left of the target and still send the path far enough right to play a good draw.

Whatever you do, the face has to be pointing right of the target at impact, and the path farther right of it. I think you know that - I'm just reiterating it for anyone else who reads this thread eventually.
