Site Notifications

I apologise if this has been covered, but couldn't find anything on the search feature (only email notifications).

How do the Site Notifications actually work? I've got them set instead of email notifications and noticed some people have quoted my posts / replied to threads I've posted in, but I don't appear to have been alerted in anywhere.

I was expecting them to pop up with a number or something similar, in the top right corner?

Any help would be appreciated.

If you visit the home page, you'll see the activity listing - choose "Forums" or any of the other sections, and turn "subscriptions only" on.

Hi iacas - thanks for this.

So now when I receive a notification, will it appear in the top right when browsing forums or will I have to click my profile to see them?

I just answered that question - it shows up there, in the activity viewer. There's nothing in the top right.

I assumed you meant that if you turned them on from the menu, something would appear so I wouldn't have to click into my profile each time, but nevermind!

Ah, I see.

Nope, the activity viewer morphs into your "notification center" of sorts.

I agree that's not the best solution, but what's how it's done currently.
