just musing.....watching golf channel. From fairway, it seems camera man follows the ball trajectory, but all you get to see is the ball against the blue sky and where it lands, no other prospective, land marks e.t.c.  whereas off the tee and looking DTL at least you get to see what the player sees.  'course what else is there to look at?  OTOH, if the shot is not so good, they usually zoom in on the player to get his/her reaction and fwiw, the ladies seem to maintain their composure better.
