Daily driver is a Dodge Dakota SE I bought new in 1987.

When I need a car: 2000 Lincoln Continental.

Both cars are newer than my golf clubs. But hey, as long as all 3 get me where I want to go... y'know?

OTOH, guy on the next block is selling a PRISTINE '90 'Vette with 27K miles. So far the will power is holding up.

My good old reliable Toyota 86 Pick-up truck with stock turbo charge 6 cylinders . It got 400,000 miles to it and still passes the California Smog test .

And that, friends, is why those of us who buy Japanese imports, do...

Actually, if you want to buy American, buy a Toyota these days - Ford, Chevy, and Dodge are made in Mexico, Buick in Canada, Toyota in Georgetown, Kentucky. I'm not sure if I'd mentioned it before or in another thread - but I'll go anyway. I replaced a '91 LeSabre with a 2000 Toyota Echo (imagine an old Yaris that didn't sell very well) about three months ago. It's a little five speed and gets unbelievable gas mileage (during a trip from here to Philadelphia, I averaged 43 miles to the gallon, and 47 on one fill-up.) And it's not even a hybrid.
"Shouldn't you be going faster? I mean, you're doing 40 in a 65..."

2005.5 Audi A4. The dumb trunk in it is too small for my golf clubs to fit any direction but diagonally. Even then I have to finesse it so that the weight of the clubs isn't stressing the driver shaft. I love my car though.

I like the Toyota Celica, saving up for a car right now, getting my full license in september. Be lucky If i find one of these under $10,000 but I've seen them.

2005 Ford F150 FX4 RCSB - Hauler/Occasional Driver

1997 Mercury Grand Marquis - Daily Driver 1989 Mustang LX - Modified Racer/Weekend Toy The date in that picture is way wrong, that was taken less than a year ago, I stole that picture from a friend's photobucket account and apparently he can't set the date on his camera. If you look closely you can see the ghost flames
And that, friends, is why those of us who buy Japanese imports, do...

I won't even go into how many kinds of wrong this post is, all I can do is feel sorry for the American auto industry that brought most of it's hardship on itself

ML320. Have had it since I passed my drivers test. Great car. I don't think I'll ever be able to get rid of it. I guess you could say it has some sentimental value.

1995 Ford Thunderbird LX 4.6. It has 250,000 miles on it (210,000 are mine). I'll never find a better car for the money as long as I live. It just will not die!! Dead stock and still runs high 14 quarter miles. I get 25+ MPG because with an automatic V8 it never cruises at more than 2000 RPMS even on the interstate at 75 MPH. It's needed very few repairs.

    • Well, I have a 2 hybrid, 4 hybrid and then play 6 iron onwards.  My best clubs are probably the 4 hybrid and the PW.  What I find is that loft is your friend in general which is why my 4 hybrid is so much better than my 2 hybrid.  Definitely disproportionately more so than the 5 or so degrees of difference in loft.  If you have hybrids, play them.  And consider loft as your friend.  Invariably you will get up to a loft where anything less will not get you more distance because of your club head speed.  Essentially the faster you swing the less lofted a club you can hit effectively.  For me it is probably a 4 hybrid and maybe a 7 iron though I could improve both with practice
    • Off to my home state of Massachusetts this morning. 9 this afternoon,  18 tomorrow,  and 18 on Saturday. Hoping for some good scores but will be just happy playing with good friends.
