Hi, I am looking to upgrade to some more forgiving irons because my current ones don't fit the bill. Im battling some issues though..... -Im a highschooler, so I can't get fitted or ill grow out of my clubs quickly -Im on a budget, Its going to have to be on the cheaper side. -I am by no means a pro, I have played for a little over a year now. I was looking at the callaway X-22's and so on. But there is so much stuff its easy to get swamped by clubs. Hope you guys can help!

I think a safe bet is the TaylorMade Burners. Full cavity, very forgiving and quite cheap. At least here in Canada they run for about 350 for 4-AW.

You might go to a Golfsmith or another golf store and see if you can find any Razr.X NG irons. Razr X was a Callaway iron produced in 2012.

The "NG" stands for "new grooves" - rather silly since everything has been new grooves the last couple of years. But, the "NG" model is a reissue of the Razr.X irons, probably with minor cosmetic differences, targeted to the $400 price point. Callaway already has the R&D; done on the model, so why not extend it for a year as an entry-level iron?

In prior years, Callaway had offered the X18R (reissue) and the X20NG as legacy irons.

Only drawback to these legacy irons is not much shaft variety. They all came in Uniflex, which not everyone likes.

Also, you may be able to find the Razr.X and Razr.X Black and Razr.X Tour iron models, either slightly used or on clearance. Callaway only made them during 2012, and then discontinued them as the X Hot family arrived.

Also, look at the Cleveland CG16 irons, or possibly CG16 Tour.

Focus, connect and follow through!
