Thanks for all the feedback. I was disappointed in the customer service, but I knew it was the "bad manager" that I was dealing with. The good one that got me a good deal will be there tomorrow, so I will try to discuss it with him too. Hoping to get some kind of refund since those clubs won't do me any good, and I've only had them for 6-7 weeks. The only reason I go to that store (which is 15 miles away) is because of that "good" manager, and I am seriously reconsidering it because of this "bad one". For wedges, there was a good deal on Cleveland CG14s, so i got a 52, 56, and 60. I actually bought them from that same store. I like your suggestion on the 3W. I will pick one up soon, and then see how I play with the 4 and 5 irons (if I end up getting those irons). I will hold off on the hybrids for now. Thanks for all the feedback. I really appreciate the recommendations and suggestions in this thread.

I after reading your post, i was going to suggest going back when the "good" manager is there and give him the low down on whats going on...   I mean I have a cheap set of Dunlap golf clubs that i bought a couple years ago from MC Sports and they still work fine....   I dont use them anymore cuz my brother gave me his hand me down Wilson Deep Red's, when he upgraded to some Titleist's AP's

Now as for hybrids, the question is how are you hitting your long irons now???    I myself suck at hitting long irons, and picked up a 3 & 4 nike VRS hybrids from Golf Galaxy that was on clearance plus a good discount lol... and then i also picked up a 5 hybrid TaylorMade for 70$$   And the difference between my 5 hybrid and 5 iron is unreal...

Now when i picked up my 5 hybrid, which i bought first... i asked the guy what it actually replaces...and he said, depending on the loft, usually it replaces 1 club up... so i could ditch my 4 iron for the 5 hybrid.. So i still keep my 5 iron in my bag.

I hit my 6 iron pretty well, but I have never tried a 5 or lower iron. Hear the lower irons can be tough, so will be spending a lot of time with the 3 4 and 5 when I get them. I will have the 3 tomorrow, so will give an update then.

yea your long irons, 2-3-4's can be very tough.... hence why you see guys using hybrids..

usually your mid to high irons  5-9 are a lot easier to hit....

as for the 3 wood...  if your looking for some good fairway woods, look at the Tour Edge Exotics..

Good news. Called the good manager this morning, and he said he will honor their 30 playability policy even though its been longer than 30 days. Said they will give me credit for whatever I paid for it to be used towards a better set. He said he wants customers to be happy with whatever they buy from his store, since he wants his customers to return. Ive already bought 3 other clubs (cleveland wedges) and extended and put new grips on 9 clubs from that store. Plan to spend much more at their store, since the "good" manager has been very nice to me since I walked in.

Glad there was a happy ending. What style wedge did you get?

My wedges are cg14s 52 56 and 60. Got the credit, which I used for a bag. Will pick up a putter with it too. Will be a customer there for a while. Happy with the service.

    • Day 252: worked on chipping for a while with my chipping net. Worked on low, medium, and high shots. Productive session.
    • Day 180 - 2025-03-29 Not a long time today, but I got my five minutes in jumping and doing some work on the downswing.
    • I’ll just stick to the basics for now - got enough to work on… this is my home practice range. The little clearing in about the center of the photo is roughly 200 yards.

    • Played Musgrove Mill today. 72.3/155. +9 for 15 official holes as 2 holes are closed, and the par 5 16th plays as a converted par 3. We played the first three holes over to finish 18, and parred 1 and2 amped bogeyed 3. The good: hit every fairway. 1 less than normal for the converted par 3, but the second time I have done that this year. My sand wedge approach on 10 after a monster drive hit the pin in the back left corner hit he pin and spun away to 9’, and I missed the putt.   The great: hit 8 GIR and 7 were inside 10’. Needs work: Missed every birdie putt. No lip-outs. Just struggled on fast greens. Three-putted the par-5 9th with the pin on the back tier and jut missed hitting my approach to the proper level and it spun all the way to the front of the green.
