What Shoes to buy?

Well I'm looking into buying a new pair of spikes, and I walk almost every round I play, so comfort is definitely a factor. I also obviously like performance.

What should I get?

Right now I'm looking into the Nike TW SP8's, Footjoy Reelfits, or the Adidas Tour 360's or the Powerband's.

Any other options welcome.

Ive been a FJ Dryjoys fan for a long time (7 years). I've heard good things about ECCO, but they don't come in a wide so I haven't tried them.

I like the X-Series Chev I as they are very comfortable, provide good support and look pretty darn good

Hmm, some good suggestions.

I don't know if anyone has tried them, but I liked the Nike SP8's because of the wishbone thing it has on the bottom for better movement.

I have a pair of the FootJoy Sport Saddle, very comfortable and nice looking in my opinion (kind of a hybrid classic/sport golf shoe) plus their on sale for like $60 now at TGW. Also have the Tour Metal II which I fo und a tad more comfortable than the 360's.

i have a couple pairs but the ones ull catch me in the most are my Callaway Match Play XXT's best gripping action and comfort out of all the ones i have. I have a pair of Nike SP-6 IIs and there good to.. even have a pair of Nike Tiger British Open 2007s and those are great to.. those are the closest in comfort to the callaways..

I love the adidas powerbands and I will get myself a pair soon, they look great and are so comfortable.

Go with the Powerbands. I have owned every brand and type of golf shoe on the market and I have never been more pleased with a golf shoe. Total comfort and performance.

      I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.

      Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
