I am a 12.7 shot a 72 yesterday on a slope 123 par 72 course. Will this lower my hc an unfair amount if it's posted. I don't want to sandbag but feel this score was a miracle.

Nice round, you should definitely post it.  What was the course rating?  Your handicap is suppose to reflect your POTENTIAL.  This score will likely lower your handicap by about a shot compared to what it would be had you shot 83.  As you are capable of shooting a 72, it is not unfair for you to be an 11 HC.

Good round!!!

I've found that once barriers are broken (no matter if it's a "miracle" or not) it's easier to get there again. Not just in golf but in anything.

Unless you are Bob Beamon.

You better post it if anyone knows you shot it.  Actually you should post it even if no one knows.  Only 20 more rounds and your HC can jump back up a point...LOL.   I've had a few really low rounds in the past that I just watched get lower and lower on my past 20......kinda sad to see them drop off.  Congrats by the way.

When I shot my PB 73, I was a 16 handicap.  It was posted, as was the next day's 78, because they were the third and fourth rounds of the club championship that year.  If it's a miracle, then it will be there to bug you until you shoot 20 more rounds, but it should properly be on the list.

It happens to everyone so it is not as much as a miracle you think it is .   Some plays consistently within small range.   Others score 100 one day and 82 the next.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
