I toyed around with tee height on a few shots today using the ideas described in this article. I hit the ball like crap off the tee on those shots. Well, not so much like crap, rather not all too great. Certainly unsatisfactorily.

I'm a mid-height guy as well... I understand the theory, better launch angle, upward sweeping motion resulting in less spin, etc. But it's so hard for me to put the darn clubface on the ball for some reason with a high tee. I tend to really hit it high and finish on my back foot, leading to weak drives that fly to the right.

I'm completely with you that.

    • Shot a 41 tonight. I thought it would have been worse. Started off with a DB, then a bogey. Swing didn't feel good. I found something by the third hole. I end up making a 4 on the last 6 out of 7 holes. Nothing solid, but good enough to hit a few GIR and nGIR. Pretty happy with how I played.
    • Or you're just lifting up, or hitting up too much but still missing the ground, etc. Record a video.
    • Finally completed the challenge! took me a long time to get hole number 4, which is a short par 4 that gently curves about 60 yards left starting at about 200 yards out and then the fairway necks down to the green. I have sometimes taken a 3W off the tee because I can push my drive and it then would enter a wooded area about 230 yards out. I pulled driver and blasted a push into the woods and it rattled around and ended up in the fairway about 60 yards from a back center pin. Spun a 58* wedge to about 2 feet:  There was a little break to it and the greens were recently aerated making a short putt a little more difficult.
    • Yes I’m still gaming the Edel.  I’ll have to see where I’m striking it on the face. I’m assuming if it’s low on the face my ball position is creeping too far forward?
