Hello all,

Having a bit of trouble with my Driver and my 3 Wood which used to be my bread and butter club! It also happens sometimes with my 3i and not so often 4i.

Im snap hooking my shots because im flipping my hands over. What usually causes this? I think im comming to far from the inside and all i can do to hit the ball is flip my hands over as i cant extend at impact due to my body being in the way.

Could a lack of shoulder turn also cause this? I've been working on getting a nice wide takeaway, and im now wondering if im just producing a hands and arms only swing!

7i and up im 100% confidence in my swing and hit the ball with a cripse desending blow with a divot after the ball. 5i & 6i im okie with, most of the time i hit them good, but now and again i might have a slight fade if im lazy!

Whats the best way to grove the correct swing path with the woods? I think im just taking my arms back and up and rotating around and fliping the hands over.

I normally flip when I feel I'm coming from too far inside (normally with a square face which leads to a huge block). The reason for this is that I have slid my hips forward too much on the downswing.

If you really want to correct your swing path you could try this,

a cheaper alternative is this,

but I think that in general the best way is via live video (i.e. you're watching yourself) or a large mirror.

Yea i looked at that Explanar thing, would be great although not much room in the house for that lol

Im 85% sure its sliding the hips, i think its comming from trying to destroy the ball. Although my Driver is so bad atm i dont know what the hell to do.

Last night i worked on it, and hit some nice 3 woods but when i took out the Driver, well you would of thought i have never played Golf before. Driver is like a super duck hook.

Lucky when on form with my 3 wood, i have no troubles driving 240 with it so i can avoid the driver. My Pro is playing on America for 3 weeks, when he gets back im on hol. 2 Days after hol i have a Corporate Golf Comp which i want to do well in lol. Must get it sorted!

LMAO I didn't think you would actually consider buying one! They're a few thousand dollars each if you're serious about it anyhow. Guess I'm lucky I have one at one of driving ranges that I frequent. This Corporate Golf thing sounds pretty serious.... What's the prize may I ask?

PS - you can build an Explanar type of device yourself if you're really desperate using a piece of wood with a cut out in the centre for you body. Saw Leadbetter using such a device before this product came out.... Also if you don't have the room you can just have the bottom half set up....

Its not that serious, but i like to take it serious so i keep focused. I think a big problem that stops me getting a better HC is not staynig focused and lossing my composure!

But, theres normally closest to the pin to win a Golfing holiday. Hole in one for a new car (Last month a nice BMW 1 series!) and other things for various scores like new set of clubs, drivers etc!

Get these a few times a year thanks to work!

I do this only when I don't turn my hips into the shot. Make sure your belt buckle is leading the clubhead and it makes flipping your hands much harder.

Thanks for the input. Will have a go when i play tonight!

Funny enough aswell, picked up Golf Digest today and theres a tip from Hank Haney about going across the line!

" Nothing is more damaging to your game than the two way miss. One major
reason it happens is that club across the line-pointing to the right of the target-at the top.

If the club is across the line (Or too upright) at the top, it will have a
tendency to drop too far to the inside and behind you on the downswing. Two things can happen from there: If your body stays back, the hands will flip and you'll hit a low hook; if your body moves forward you'll hit a high block.

When your missing on both sides of the golf course your in big trouble. You want the club to be parallel to the target line at the top"

Might help others with a sim prob!
