Consistancy/slow starts

What are some things I could do to prevent slow starts? Usually the first 3 holes I just don't hit the ball to solid. I don't have a range at my course either... Same thing with consistancy, is that a part of the game that comes along with experience? On the last 6 holes today, every other whole i hit a 250 yard drive in the fairway, but mixed in were two slices and a hook.

I have the same problem. My last two 18-hole rounds went 55-39 and 50-42. This week I was 12 over par on the first 4 holes and 8 over on the remaining 14.
