Did I buy the wrong irons for me?

I am not all that knowledgeable about how you can adjust clubs but if the weaker lofts are making you hit the ball too high, why don't you have the lofts strengthened? The PGA store will adjust the loft/lie of 8 clubs for 20 bucks. I'm cheap but I would spend $20 to make my new set of irons work better for me. (All this being said, I am not sure how much loft adjustments you can do to your clubs, but it would be looking into I would think).

Plus a lot of people struggle with new clubs when they first get them (ie. Rory McIlroy) and he had all the help and fitting aids at his side. (granted there were likely other factors that affected his play)

I started hitting the ball better and I did consider having the lofts adjusted, but that would affect the bounce. These irons did not have the bounce my older set had. I'm trying to adjust to these smaller clubs.
