My wedges are getting a little worn and was wondering if anybody has used the groove resharpener tools out there? Like the ones all over ebay or the one at groovesharpener.com . Thanks

Heh, I didn't even know they made tools for this - I just figured after a while of playing with them, and they get real worn down, you just pick up a couple of new ones...haha.

no not that one, but I bought a small file set like the cheap jewelry file set you see at the dollar store or the flea market, and theres 2 in the set of 5 that work great... withing an hour I had touched up my irons and let me tell you I could see the difference right away.. it was a huge improvement. the set cost me like 4.00.....

Id buy new wedges but I really love mine. So even buying the same exact wedge wouldnt help. Ive grown to love my wedges. Im gonna go into a home depot and look at thier filing tools and maybe see if I can come up with my own. Ill look for a jewelry set too.

I bought one form golfsmith.com and it works great. It does v and u grooves. You can actually feel the difference after you use it. I had to buy rubber pads for my vise to hold the club still, its tough to hold the club and work the tool at the same time. It was like $20 I think, but very good investment.

I bought a club medic tool to sharpen my grooves from golfsmith. It worked well in my PW-8 iron which are taylormade rac mb's . but it wasn't strong enough to scratch the surface of my pelz wedges because their faces are tougher than regular carbon steel

Thats one I was actually looking into. It seems well made and a couple good reviews on it. 26 bucks though

Well some of us happen to be too poor to do that.

    • I’d go with the Titleist if you liked the look of the blades but were suffering with distance. They should be a little more forgiving than a full blade and still retain some workability. Also remember to consider the shafts each have as this will be a big contributor to how they feel. Clemsonfan is right though… get fit or spend a bit of time on a launch monitor 🤙
    • Day 28: 2026.01.30 Managed to make time for a few swings out back today. Need a proper bit of range time this weekend.
    • Day 30, 1/30.  Six minutes this morning hitting a few more range balls, indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Did this before leaving the house.

    • Hi All my New Year’s resolution was to start playing golf again. I’ve caught the bug and am really enjoying hitting balls at a couple of my local ranges.looking forward to getting back out on courses in the spring. Based in the UK and 38 years old, I’ve been playing since I was a kid. Best handicap I’ve held is 2 in my mid 20s. Over the past 10 years I’ve played once or twice a year, sometimes with friends or for work. Could shoot 4-5 over, but just as easily shoot 15-20 over. I’ve moved to South Wales and am very lucky to be near some world class links courses, which gives me even more motivation to get playing again! I will start looking for a local coach in my area when I have more time to invest, but I recalled scouring this forum a few years ago and finding some good tips and advice so wanted to give it a try to see if there were any glaring issues I could fix in the meantime!  A few swings below… one from 1st week Jan and one from today. I have fixed my P1 takeaway to my liking and am now working on what I see as pretty severe early extension & hip thrust. Also terrible hip rotation. I’d like confirmation that this is indeed a problem and and suggestions on a few good drills. Thanks for reading 🙂 I've been Playing Golf for: 30+ years My current handicap index or average score is: 10ish over My typical ball flight is: mid The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: push right with irons, hooks and push with driver!  Videos:
