I just ordered a set of Cleveland wedges. 47,51,& 60 degrees. Can't wait for them to come in, they are the old 588 R.T.G. GUN METAL black series. Thoughts?

I do but the set I currently have are 2 degrees strong. Hopefully the gap created by that will be filled by these wedges. :-D

So your current "PW" is 43˚?!  What's the motivation for the lofts?  I ask cause I also love having a 60˚, but with a 43˚ PW I'd be more tempted to do something like 48˚, 54˚, 60˚.

They were like that when they were given to me, I tend to hit the ball really high and these irons (Snake Eyes FMC-1) allow me to keep the ball flight under control.

    • More often than not its my 58 degree wedge. But I might use the sand wedge or the p-wedge depending upon what's between me and the flagstick.
    • My rule of thumb for anything inside a 100 yards is my PW.  Of course, my SW and LW come into the picture when I need to loft it more and especially when I have little green to work with.
    • let me check, I think my volleyball tournament is on 6/21, and we are just driving up and back the same day. I may be masochistic enough to then to play golf on Sunday (6/22). 🤣. 6/21 is 100% out for me.
    • Thank you for sharing that. He was quite good wasn't he? I was curious, so took a look. He played 19 PGA Tour stroke play events in 2000. He was 263 under par (they did point that out at the end of the video). If you look at each event he played in and take the best score in each event for a player not called Tiger Woods, that combined field score was -259. So he beat the field - where the field resets every week - over the course of an entire season. That's mind blowing.
    • If they have the same handicap it doesn't matter what you take 35% and 15% of. If you have two low handicaps, averaging them is generally unwise as I said in my first response: a scratch and an 18 would get 9 strokes, which is silly given that one of the players is scratch.
