As my welcome post stated, I just got back into golf after about a 8/9 year hiatus...meaning my clubs are a tad bit dated, and were purchased a various thrift stores across the state of Illinois. (All except 3 clubs that I purchased at a local golf boutique) What do you guys think about my set up, also I was thinking about buying a set of TaylorMade Burner 2.0 irons.. 5-PW at least. What are you guys reviews on those?

TaylorMade SuperQuad TP

Tigershark9600

Nike SQ Hybrid 4

Nike SQ Hybrid 5

TourEdge Bazooka 350J 5-9 Irons

Nike Sumo A Wedge

Titlelist 56 degree P Wedge

Arnold Palmer High MOI Putter

I know its a hack bag..but hey...lol

We need to know more about you and your game.

How do you play?  What do you struggle with?  Were your current clubs ever tested for loft and lie? If you got them all used, they could be nuts, setup wise.

What is your budget?

EDIT: The best addition you could make to your bag would be a sandtrap.com avatar.

I do not know one player who judges another by the looks of the bag, or the content.  Pink grips or black make no difference to the game.

According to the local pro at the range I go to I have a very powerful and fast swing that still needs to be polished. I'll post video soon in the right thread. I'm pretty solid with my hybrids, I can hit between 150 and 220/230 depending on the back swing... My iron game as of now is horrible. So many duffed shots, but when I hit a good one its exactly how I visualize it to be. The guy who owns the local pro shop told me the Tour Edge graphite shafts that were on my irons were made for senior players and my swing is too fast for them. I have a slight slice which I've learned to utilize..even though I'm starting to get decent connection again.

    • I haven't run the ShotScope yet, but I played 18 today.  I hit a great drive on 6 and then, holes 7-17 (excluding par-3s) I hit some very uninspired drives.  Then, after hitting on 17, I realized I'm over-swinging.  So at 18, I took a practice swing with the drill I've been doing during practice shots at home the past few weeks.  Then I decided, one more practice swing, but you know, with the ball right there. So I did.  I didn't even hit it at full speed.  It resulted in a nice high draw and settled onto the fairway.  To put it simply:  if the rules allowed me to place the ball anywhere in my reasonable shot zone as that tee shot, the spot I would have chosen is where it ended up.  I went on to hit two more good shots (it's a par-5) and left myself with a 7' birdie putt.  While I missed it, that drive is going to stay in my head for a very long time.
    • Day 59, June 25.  Played 18 today.  I'll tell a story on the "best shot of the week" thread that makes me think happy thoughts.
    • Day 631 - 2026-06-25 Long day, but stayed a bit to get fifteen minutes of work in. Foam balls. Throwing the back of the club behind me.
    • Day 5 (25 Jun 26) - continued drills w/7i, hard foam balls focused on “nipping the tee below the ball” to reinforce consistent face contact.  Hit about 40 shots total.
    • Day 294 6-25 Low point control with towel. Then hit some foam balls with flow drill. Recorded.
