I agree 360 is the best out there, still millions on Gears of
War which will never get old, Rainbow Six Vegas then you think of the games coming soon, Assassins Creed, we get GTA too, so you can't go wrong, never been a Metal Gear fan, and cant wait for Medal of Honour Airbourne and CoD4. I want Airbourne more, I don't like the modern shooters as much, but CoD4 may change that.

Groundbreaking, that one. Mario 64 blew so many people away, and I still think Goldeneye is one of the best games ever made.

Thats funny, me and my buddies invested most of our younger years playing multi-player Goldeneye. Mario 64 was cool, the graphics blew everyone away for sure. Another one we spent countless hours mashing away at on the 64 was WCW vs. NWO wrestling made by THQ, which is probably one of the best multi-players games ever made (along with goldeneye). Nowadays i find myself somewhat of a lost gamer aswell. Im going to buy an xbox 360 as soon as i can find a decent deal on craigslist. Nows the time to buy, with prices dropping and crazy amounts of pre-christmas release dates. and Id rather not spend the money on a ps3 even though like previously mentioned the 360 will be obselete in 2 years. Wie's dont appeal to me really, my buddy has one.. it works for drunken parties but im not going to play that thing alone in my house.. sorry, someone seeing me flailing around through a window is embarassing enough to think about. I tend to stick to mostly sports games now ie. hockey, basketball, boxing, and golf titles. (with the odd fps/3rd person shooter) so an xbox 360 will suit me just fine.

How bout some Handheld talk here, I have a PS2 and a PSP, which are both amazing, the PSP catches my eye more and is alot more fun to play with. Take it anywhere and so many other features (internet, movies, music, pictures) and of course games. The graphics are stunning for a small handheld.

I'm not a big fan of the PSP for many reasons I won't bother explaining (unless someone wants to hear it). I have a DS though and play a ton of games on it. The stylus really adds a whole new dimension to the game play and I'm loving it.

And I think Sony will either leave the console business, or make a Playstation 4 when a new Xbox comes out. I can hear all this talk of future-proof, etc. but the newest, hottest thing will sell. Sony's claim that the PS3 will have a ten year cycle is complete bull. The PS2 is still pretty popular because of the massive library, extremely low cost, and the fact that it functions as a DVD player. I don't think (and neither do sales results) that they will replicate that success with the PS3.

The PS3 is nothing more than better graphics, why waste your money? Making a PSP 2 or something would be simply amazing. There are many debates all over the Internet about which is better. The PSP and DS, both have their advantages, but i really dont feel like playing nothing else but mario with the DS :P

You should try some of the original/great games like Trauma Center that can only be done on the DS (though I actually prefer the Wii version, it's amazing).

For one solid year of college, I think I must have spent at least 30 hours per week playing Mario Kart against the same three friends, every week. We RARELY played race mode - almost always battle mode. Some battles would take literally an hour. We were GOOD.

So I may have to change my own vote from Goldeneye to Mario Kart, as dumb as that may sound...

I doubt anything will reach the success of the PS2. If the PS3 is judged on that, it will fail. But I don't think it will be. I understand all of your guys' points about the PS3, and to some extent you are right. But it is still a great machine....I wouldn't count it out yet.

    • The highlights as I see them: Championship and Challenger Series The creation of the PGA Tour and the PGB Tour, in the words of Joel Dahmen a few years ago. They're calling them the Championship Series (23-24 events) and the Challenger Series (20+ events). Both run February to August. They feel this will achieve three things: increasing the consistency and quality of fields across the season creating a clear system for players to earn and retain status and delivering a more structured and competitive experience for fans and partners—all in an effort to strengthen meritocracy. Championship Series Structure and Eligibility The 23-24 events includes the Players, majors, season-ending events, and the Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup. These will be 72-hole events with a 36-hole cut to the top 65 and ties and purses of $20M+. 120 players without an alternate list. 90 players (roughly) from the previous year and 20 players promoted from the Challenger Series. Full eligibility will be finalized later this year. Sites (cities) to be finalized soon, but 10 of the 15 courses have already been determined. Postseason: includes retention and relegation and concludes with match play. The Tour Championship will also be played across a rotation of prestigious courses. Challenger Series Structure and Eligibility 20+ events. Running concurrently. Will feature players fighting their way back to the Championship Series or players graduating and on the upswing from the Korn Ferry Tour. Many of these events will be current PGA Tour courses. About 7 of the Challenger Series events will be during off weeks for the Championship Series with elevated purses and visibility. Purses of at least $4M, with cuts similar to the Champ series. 144 player fields. Competitive Fields for Both Series Players will be eligible for only one series at a time: Championship Series Players are not eligible for Challenger Series events. Championship Series members will have a known schedule with all events having the same eligibility. Players and Majors will have their own eligibility criteria. Championship Series players don't have to play all events. This begs the question about, say, the Canadian Open, and other "home-town" events that players might want to play, even if they're Challenger Series events. Will releases be granted? Promotion and Relegation At least 90 players will be retained in the Championship Series, and 20 players will be promoted from the Challenger Series each year. Battlefield promotion for two-time winners from the Challenger Series. Players relegated from the Championship Series will have a "last chance" opportunity to retain status, or will go to the Challenger Series. Criteria will be finalized before the start of the 2027 season. Points System New points system (not FedExCup points). Separate points systems for the Championship and Challenger Series. Elevated points in the Challenger Series for off-weeks on the Championship Series. More details tk. Elevated International Events in the Fall The fall schedule will include a limited series of elevated international events with top players from the Championship Series, with the intent to deliver in partnership with the DP World Tour as part of the Strategic Alliance. Last Chance Series The Tour will develop a “last chance” series of 4-6 events in the fall, with a limited number of spots on the Championship Series available for top finishers. Eligibility will include players relegated from the Championship Series, Challenger Series players, and other categories to be determined. Q-School continues, as do the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Latinoamerica. Also, Brian Rolapp is the new commissioner as of January 1, 2027.
