I play in Georgia. The Bermuda rough tends to thicken up this time of year. Going right under a lot of chips and pitches around the green, especially on uphill lies. It's not so bad on longer shots because I take a bigger swing, it's the delicate shots where there is not much green to work with that cause the most trouble. Thanks in advance.

Use you driver to chip . No, just try to hit the ball, imagine that it is slightly above you feet, and take a little more club, as it will go higher and land a little softer.

Another option is using a Sand Wedge and play it like a sand shot. Open up your stance and blade and just hit the grass behind the ball and follow through. You don't actually hit the ball, just the force of hitting the grass raises the ball up in the air. Practice this shot for awhile to get a feel for distance and it will become a weapon for you.

    • With the hot weather……I’ll take a Gatorade please.
    • 60 minutes on the local school playing fields, trying to discover my former grip,I found it and used a lob wedge with which I was able to group 3 balls pretty near together, very happy to have found my old grip and its give me a lot more confidence so I can go have a round of golf with my brother and his step sons,I have not stepped on a course for 20 years, still I can hit my old yardages and that's great as I'm now 62...everybody have a great day
    • I have this issue as well. I play in a bi-weekly league and I generally work on my drills and feels as I'm playing in the league...lol. But to be honest, they really do not affect me in a bad way too much. If anything, my irons are actually more crisp.  The issue comes in when I transition to the woods....so I try to find a happy medium there for the time being. But as far as bad shots go, they are no worse than they were before worrying about drills and what not.  Just speaking for my experience, obviously.
    • Another good episode. I below its a skill to be able to find a functional swing between where you were and where you want to be. I am guilty of trying to do too much on the course instead of just playing.  The goal is to play golf better. Not turn a round of golf into a practice session.
    • SUMMER HAS ARRIVED!!! Just in time for this golf outing.
