Yes people like the Ryder cup and Presidents cup but its always USA vs Europe. I think it would be nice to see 4 captains picking teams in a fantasy style snake like draft. Incase there is someone unfamiliar with that. round 1, picks go in order as selected, round 2 reverse order and it continues like that for however many rounds they choose. It would be nice to see more team golf done this way (as a fan, speaking from a fans point of view). I also think it would create playing partners we normally wouldn't see. To elaborate on that one step further, add x amount of women from the lpga on each team. This way you can have the men playing against each other. women playing each other and mixed teams as well. What do you guys and gals think?

I think the reason everyone loves match play is because it's infrequent. It only happens a few times a year, so it's amazing and everyone loves it. Any more and it might lose its luster. If stroke play only happened a few times a year, everyone would love more of it. I'm a sucker for match play as well. I love watching and following stupid shit like the Eurasia Cup & Seve Trophy. The US plays against the internationals, then Euros, also themselves. Who else is there to play? I think adding something like this during the offseason would be interesting, but it would just be too Pro Bowl-y and cheesy. I do not see it happening. Adding the women would be awful, just awful.

???

Also, to the topic, I'm in favor of no more team golf than we have now. The guys don't like it, and if we have it more often, it'll be less special when we do get it.

From wikipedia:

"The National Team Championship , which was played under a variety of names, was a golf tournament on the PGA Tour from 1965 to 1972."

It actually was a better ball even that Jack and Arnie won three times in 1966, 1970 and 1971.

As a kid I went to Laurel Valley to see The King and The Bear totally dominate the field. I really enjoyed watching one tournament a year being played as a better ball event by professional golfers.

Its still USA vs. I just thought if they had a once a year event which allowed for x amount of teams and players picked from wherever to play together it would be cool. Even if it was a charity event or something like that. I didn't mean lets have lots of team events but just something that wasn't USA vs whoever. I think it would be cool to see Tiger and Adam Scott on the same team (as an example) or Rickie Fowler teamed up with Lidia Ko vs Rory and Lexi in a best ball.

But I get that its not for everyone. I just thought it would be a different approach to what we are used to watching.
