Callaway Big Bertha Alpha..........I bought one today

I finally tested drivers!!   I went to Edwin Watts where I could hit in front of a launch monitor with a pro.

I only tested 3 clubs.... Titleist 913, Ping G30, and Big Bertha Alpha.  I have no brand loyalty and went with the club with the best results for my swing.   I could have tested more, but the Big Bertha results good enouigh that I didn't see any point in hitting more balls.   The face is a little more open at address and the look fit my eye well.   I felt like I could swing freely without compensating........the smother hook is gone!!  I bought my first BB nearly 20 years ago, and never thought in a million years that I'd own another!  LOL

Are there any Alpha owners out there?

I took the club to the course and played 18 holes this evening.  I mostly experimented and hit extra shots on the first nine without keeping score.  I learned that I can still hit a big sweeping hook with this club when my tempo is off.   For the most part, I hit a very nice looking medium/high draw that was predictable.  The smother hook is GONE!!   I hit 2-3 balls on each tee and really liked what I saw.  The front emptied out......so I played a speed-9 before it got dark.

I only hit 4/7 fairways, but two misses were only by a few feet.   I only hit 1 bad drive into a hazard, but I left the course feeling pretty good.    I still carded a respectable 2 over par 38 in spite of a double-bogey on a tough 9.

Stone Canyon.......CR 36.4.....145slope.

I know I'll have both good and bad days, but I feel pretty confident the Alpha is a good fit for me.  Yes, there will be days when I spray the ball, but I will confident that I only have myself to blame.

Bought it back in July and love everything about it.

Not sure if because I got it fit but now I'm playing with high draw; used to be fade.

Played 6 rounds since then and I'm hitting more FW than ever; 72% cant complaint about that!!!

Now I just need to find putter that can drop 72% of time...... do you know one? lol

I'm trying this club out, I have it in my bag, waiting for the courses to open.  Can't wait to try it.

Heading to the range to give the alpha a try.

Hit it on the range, the club is an inch longer than my 913.  I hit it pretty good but choked down on it, it was way too long of a shaft for me.  Not sure I like the sound it makes when you hit it. But it went far, had the draw bias.  It was a little too windy to get a really good feel for it, I'm playing first round of the year tomorrow.  We'll see how it goes.

Ended up going back to the 913 Titelist, back to hitting it well, can't wait for the course to dry up and the wind to die down.
