Technology for Putt Distances During TV Play?

Does anyone know what type of technology the TV crews use to measure the distance of putts?

As the pros talk line with their caddies, the screen shows the length of the upcoming putts.

Maybe it some kind of a close-in GPS program that uses the cup as the center point?

You mean they can calculate the putt and anything else to the inch? That's amazing. does that info get to the player or just for the viewers on TV?
