This sounds almost impossible. the rounds will take like 9 hours lol
Good luck, I would probably take a 2 hybrid and try 2 avoid bunkers, as you can chip and pitch and putt with them... You could then take a 8 iron as well..

Hard to give advice when I don't know what kind of course you play. Is that tournament a 2 club + putter or must you choose that as one of your clubs? If this were being done in my home course then I would bring a 4 hybrid and a pitching wedge . The hybrid is a very comfortable club to use and is quite versatile, off the tee box, fairway, rough, or green. And with only 2 clubs, you're going to be around the green, instead of on it, a lot. I picked the pitching over the sand wedge cos' I can get out of bunkers with a PW just fine but the added distance I get off it from the fairway on certain holes makes a difference.

What's in my cart and stand bag:

Hybrids: Idea 17* and 21* RegularIrons: Idea 5-9, incl PW and SW RegularPutter: Rossa Monza Corza and Rossa Lambeau 2 ball bladeBalls: Any. Find many, lose a few

I would use a 19* hybrid and a six or 8 iron. putting with the hybrid is pretty easy, take a few strokes on the practice green before you start.

I've played in 3 two club tournaments and it's always been two clubs

and a putter. Are you playing 9 or 18 holes? How many are par 3's? If you're in the 2+1 situation, I'd take a 4 Hybrid & PW. If you're in the 1+1 situtaion, I'd take a 7 iron & putter. On Par 5's, you can generally hit the green in 5. Betcha I can par the back 9 with nothing but a 7 iron! The idea is to ALWAYS be on the fairway.

Putter and 7 or 8 makes the most sense if you have to take a putter. Otherwise I would agree with the people that say Hybrid and Wedge.

    • Day 27 - 2026-01-16 Played 18 with some of the usual "too many voices" going on when I'm working on swing stuff. Fun to get out in great bay area winter weather.
    • I know one recent college grad who's trying the same thing.  This guy was a Division III All-American, went on to play one year at Division I LSU, and is not working hard.  He won the Gulf States Open, a pro event, and made it to the second stage of the Korn Ferry Tour School late in the fall.  And didn't make the cut to get to the final stage.  I won't talk about swing or play stuff, but I believe there are a couple of things that are essential.  Obviously, talent, and drive, or work ethic.   I can't tell you how to do it, but you HAVE to get through it.  Golf is going to be your life, and it takes lots of work. Two more things that are really critical.  You'll need the facility to be able to practice.  My young friend stayed in Baton Rouge, as a past player on the team he can still use the LSU practice facilities.  And money.  Its unlikely you'll be able to work a full-time job and practice the way you will need to.  You'll probably need backing, from a parent, from a consortium of friends or club members., something to support you. Good luck, its not an easy path, but anything is possible.  Another young man from our area, Mike Brennan, just won for the first time on the "big" PGA Tour.
    • No one in the world is as smart as Phil thinks he is.
    • Get more comfortable with being uncomfortable. If you don’t like practicing then give up now. You don’t have the passion to become a pro. Unless that mentality changes you won’t do well under stressful situations.    Call the PGA Tour and ask. They probably have resources available.
