Many of you ask for a roadmap but we do not really like to do that as we prefer to be agile and change our plans based on feedback and trends. But we do of course have our own internal roadmap and plans.

So you can have a general idea of what we are planning for the next few months:

October/November: Release version 4.1 and continue to focus on stability. Those of you who obsessively follow our bug tracker may note that we have closed out hundreds of bugs from 4.0 and we will continue doing that. Version 4.1 has many performance improvements as well.

November/December: Continue to release stability updates for 4.1. Shift focus to performance in addition to general stability. We will also be introducing some low-level changes that will be boring but have large impacts on speed.

December/January: Begin minor feature updates. We will be focused on feedback on features/changes that are easy to implement and do not introduce possible instability. The idea is to make lots of small changes that add up to a more pleasant experience. We will actually posting a two-question survey soon as an experiment to gain more insight. I hope you take the time to participate when we post it  :-)

February and beyond: Begin development on 4.2. The theme of 4.1 was content discovery, the theme for 4.2 will be member engagement. Much like with 4.1, the change list will be kept manageable to we can do a start-to-finish release cycle of less than 4 months.

In summary:

You can expect to see the Suite continuing to become both more stable and much faster over the next few weeks. Once everyone is happy with that then we will start to introduce all those "little things" that add up to make the overall system all the better. We will then put our head down and start on the next round of larger changes.

There is no need to say "will my X request be in Y release?" at this stage. Everyone will have an opportunity to bring up their #1 request soon.

Of course these plans can change. This is especially true for February on the "start 4.2" item as we will not start 4.2 until stability, performance, and small changes in 4.1 are to a point we are happy.

    • Day 27 (17 July 26) - Normally an 18 hole day, but due to commitments abbreviated the round to 9 holes (played the back nine at home course).  Had a solid session where even the worst miss (tee shot off 18) was fully playable.  Shot a solid 39 (6pars, 3bogies) - not dbls, no three putts - just boring golf.
    • Overall, well said. People have to be very careful in trying to describe very complex problem in simple terms. In this case, it is a clear fundamental misunderstanding of Newton's 1st and 3rd laws.  To clarify more on the misinterpretation of Newton's 1st law. The exact interpretation of Newton's 1st Law....  "Every body continues in its state of rest, or of uniform motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed upon it" yea, a body will stay motionless unless a force acts upon it. An object will stay on its path of motion unless a force acts upon it.  I get it, complex physics problems are difficult. There is a lot of simplification done in most physics class when it is taught. A classic problem uses a frictionless surface. Projectile motion excludes drag and wind direction. Collisions are usually elastic. The golf swing is not a simple physics problem.  Yea, I think they got caught up the data on the graphs and are not truly understanding cause and effect.  If the golfer isn't first pushing into the ground, then the ground isn't going to push back.  The internal forces of the body create the motion, not the external forces from the ground. The ground isn't like what Psy uses to start his concert. 🤣 You probably need to be connected to the ground and have those GRF to help the body produce the motion you want. Your body has to move in the right way to produce the GRF which helps you move the body in the way you want. Body motion precedes the GRF.
