I found a nice Iron Set of Ping Eye 2's + Ping O Blade inat I'm assuming are all original that were listed for about 2 months online and decided to purchase them today.  I have some pictures of my Iron Set 3-PW with Sand Wedge and with the putter included, also have a couple questions for the forum.

What's the Blue Dot represent?

What's the 2 Represent on the lower left side of the cavity head?

Since there's no serial numbers on the clubs what year were they made?

What are all 9 Irons worth?

I can't seem to find any completed listings on eBay or anywhere else to help.

Thank You

3.All PING clubs have serial numbers that you can register on their website and see the specs.
4. 75-150 depending on the condition. Only the BeCu sets command top dollar

Are you saying the square groove clubs don't command top dollar, because I believe you're missing that.

I see a lot of sets on ebay still go for 75-150 even with the square grooves. The demand just isn't there since the rule changes. Occasionally you will see them go for 200+ put those are the truly mint condition sets.

Would you mind posting a link to a listing where Ping eye 2 blue dot square groove went on ebay?  I can't seem to find one.

Some recently sold listings. The fourth set down was in really good condition and still was only 120

Anyone else care to chime in?  Possibly give me the price of ping eye 2 blue dot true square grooves - others pending model?  I purchased them with a putter, vintage titleist leather bag, cougar gag bag, ball retreiver, 3 taylormade drivers, and golf bag cart.  I know I got my money's worth but I still need to know the sale value.

Aren't those plus 2's and not the true square grooves that are the same as mine?

That one listing may be mislabeled but the rest are fine.

What did you pay for them? In the 3-4 months the highest selling set I've seen was a BeCu set 2-P that went for 202.50 but have also seen under 150.

$100 for the complete set, I had just spoke to a rob griffin at ping.  He had given me some information on the irons.  He said 8 of the 9 clubs that don't have a serial number could possibly have been owned by a pro, because they don't come out of the shop without having a serial number.  However the 6 iron does have a serial number of 868247 meaning the owner could have lost a 6 iron and bought another off ebay and such but the  serial specs said the iron was orange dot, c3 swing height, and cut 3/4 shorter so it is alost the same size as the 7 iron, however it's showing blue dot.  Nice customer service by the way for Ping.

I was looking at the hosels of the other 8 clubs and found the serial numbers for all 8.  I had to actually shine a bright light on them and get the perfect angle to see them and they were etched in, but I was able to identify the other 8.

Here's the sand wedge serial #:  179671
Here's the other 7 iron clubs serial #:  92287

Could I get all information about these clubs please?  Anyone with a dealer account for Ping?

They are worth about $100.  Could be more if they have good grips.  Most people like the Eye2+ soles and lofts better despite the shallower grooves, but they all command around the same money.  Enjoy your new sticks!

    • For someone with a very consistent swing speed and ball strike, upgrades may improve performance. For everyday golfers, probably not. I'm a rather odd player. I usually get best performance from basic pro or tour heads, but with lighter stock shaft from the model's standard driver set up. (Yes, current EXS is an exception.) When I get a full driver fitting, I usually try a couple of modest upgrade  (not super magic) shafts. Most of the time upgrade gives a couple of extra yards, or 10 yards less. Remember this about stock shafts: They are matched to a particular driver model to fit the type of player likely to adopt that model. Also, most OEMs offer a variety of stock shafts in their drivers. Test for which one works best. And, the final decider...
    • Uh, seeing you're having trouble with hit-and-miss performance from inherited clubs... Get Fitted! IF the 910H pair don't work, swap them out. Also, only two degrees separation in loft is not much. You might consider a 4W (much more reliable than a 3W) plus hybrid. This would give more distance separation than two Hs. For hybrid, get one you can hit... Maybe a more benevolent 4H. Quite often I try to brand match my bridge clubs (FWs and Hs), and my irons and wedges... but not always. Whatever works!
    • Like others have said, get fitted. Since 2011, I have played some combination of 4W + 7W. I had a Cobra 3H and 4H a couple of years back, and would swap out the 7W for a 3H in cold months (keep out of cold wind, and rough thinner for wayward drives.) The 7W matched up with yardage often with 3H; the current 4H goes almost as long as 7W, but has a lower trajectory. 4H also bumped out 4i in last bag redo; I learned to hit stinger with 4H so that's my driving iron on tight holes with shallow landing area. Again, a side-by-side test will tell you which way to go. If 5W or 3H is meh, keep the 7W. Also, are you looking to replace the 7W with a 5W or 3H, or add a second bridge club (5W or 3H) to your bag?
    • Makes sense and aligns with other literature. Static stretching, especially for longer durations, can impede performance in strength and power activities. I would not want to do like hamstring, quad, and calf stretches then go immediately sprint. To me that sounds like a terrible Idea. I would rather start off walking, then jogging, then running, then ramp up to sprinting.  To me, static stretching isn't even a warmup activity. I like the term warmup; you want to get some exertion going before the activity.      a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; }
    • Going to Florida for the usual February golf trip, and with our current weather, that date won't get here soon enough. Heading to Augusta GA for the Tuesday Master's practice round, will definitely get some golf in while I'm in the area for a few days. Hope to be able to catch up with @coachjimsc if he's around. Then it's back to Scotland first of July.  Playing 7 new courses, can't wait for that.  Then somewhere after that is the Rhode Island CC Member-Guest and then my normal October golf trip to Myrtle Beach.
