OK I bought an R7 Superquad at a golf expo this past weekend (10.5, and reg shaft) for $250.... I don't know if it's the TP or not... I just realized there's a difference between the TP and just the regular Superquad. Can anyone shed some light on that? Also I'm not sure how to properly use the weighting system. I'm going to play 9 now, I'll report back with my thoughts on the club in general in a few hours. Thanks in advance for any help!

unless you have a first edition like mine, there will be grooves in the center of the club face, that indicaates a tp, if there are no grooves, but ti still has the symbol, it is a first edition, adn iwll say so. i can takae pics if you need.

P.S. its a beautiful club when you get it working...

I think fakes r7 SuperQuad TP are logo-ed with 1st Edition All Black. A $250 SuperQuad is supposedly to be the regular version and I'm guessing it's genuine since you bought it from brick and mortar shop.

fusion- the ones labled all black are not fakes. they are quiete reall. On the TM site, it says they are, "commemorative of this great achievment in driver technology." or something like that. I snagged mine for 170, and it ran through the taylor made registration just fine...

My bad, perhaps I wasn't being too clear with this. I didn't mean all SuperQuad 1st Edition All Black are all fakes. I was saying that to my knowledge "they" make fakes SuperQuad only with the 1st Edition version, but not the 460MWT.

OK so turns out it's not a TP just a regular Superquad. I played 9 yesterday... it was windy and 42 degrees. I really only hit one beautiful drive... it's going to take some getting used to. I couldn't turn my old driver over fast enough so I played it pretty far up in my stance. I obviously set up the same with the R7 which resulted in a hook. When I tried holding back my wrists a little bit I held them back too much and pushed it. I'm sure just moving the ball back in my stance while maintaining the same swing as before will be the key here. Can anyone lend some advice on using the weights? TIA...

more info here: http://www.taylormadegolf.com/produc...il.asp?pID=167

this is what i remember:

1) heavier weight on top - produce lower ball flight
2) heavier weight on heel - tend to draw
3) heavier weight on toe - tend to fade

and i think the rules say you are not supposed to tinker with the weights during a round. have fun!

    • I don't have enough details to know what to tell you, man. If they were walking across, to play devil's advocate, maybe just wait another 10 seconds next time.
    • Day 11: Putts with a metronome and worked on some feels for greenside shots.
    • I realize the frame cuts off my tail but wanted to specifically see my hand path and club shaft and head travel from A5 to A7 with the grip and posture work I have been doing . This might be the shallowest I have managed to get the club head to enter into impact. I like the finish much more as well.
    • Context:  I used to play golf very regularly (and when I'm playing regularly, I'm on TST regularly).  In summer 2022, I got my handicap down to a personal-best 11.9.  Unfortunately, in the three years since then, I've had far less time to play, and didn't really make the time to practice.  I've played a bit more the past few months, and I anticipate having a lot more time to practice starting in about two months, at which point I'm hoping to go back to my old practice habits (practicing daily, Evolvr lessons, spending more time on TST (come to think of it, I can do that important last part now)).   But it was thinking about how different my nines have been a few times in the past month or so that made me wonder if there was a thread here about it, and sure enough, there was.  In the past month or so, I've had a 38-46 and a 45-39.
    • Day 2 - range session. Focus on tempo. Not as good as last time, but good.
